  • On March 1876, the telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell (1847-1922) who was a Scottish-born American scientist, inventor, engineer, innovator, and teacher of the deaf. As a boy, Alexander Graham Bell was fascinated by the mechanics of speech and sound. As an adult, he followed in his father’s footsteps and taught elocution to the deaf and hard of hearing.
