Silent Night” (German: Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht) is a popular Christmas carol, written by a Clergyman Joseph Mohr and composed by a music teacher Franz Gruber during the few days that preceded one Christmas Eve in 1818 in the small town of Oberndorf bei Salzburg, Austria.
