What is a normal pulse rate ? and How to measure it ?

  • The pulse rate is a measurement of the heart rate, or the number of times the heart beats per minute (BPM).
  • A normal resting heart rate ranges from 60 to 100 beats a minute.
  • Bradycardia is a heart rate that is too slow (below 60 beats a minute).
  • Tachycardia is an abnormally rapid heart rate (over 100 beats a minute).
  • Activities that can provoke change include physical exercise, sleep, anxiety, stress, illness, ingesting, and drugs.
