Where do Diamonds form ?

  • Where are Diamonds found ? = Over 150 Kilometers below the Earth’s surface in the mantle, diamonds are formed.
  • How a Diamond is formed ? = The diamonds make their way up the surface captured within liquid hot rock or magma. Once they reach the surface, diamonds can be found in volcanic pipes called kimberlite pipes or in loose mineral deposits called alluvial deposits.
  • What are Diamonds made of ? = Diamonds are crystals of pure carbon.
  • How old are Diamonds ? = All diamonds are at least 990,000,000 years old.
